A person has been arrested for issuing death threats to Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan from Chhattisgarh’s Raipur, news agency IANS reported. Mohammad Faizan Khan, a lawyer by profession, has been arrested this morning from his residence.
Notably, Faizan made a threatening call to Shah Rukh Khan and demanded Rs 50 lakh from him. He was arrested after he failed to appear before the Mumbai Police. Earlier, the accused claimed his phone was lost and someone made the threatening call.
On November 2, Shah Rukh Khan celebrated his 59th birthday. Just five days later, a death threat was issued to him. According to news agency PTI, the threat was made by an individual from Raipur, Chhattisgarh. In order to trace the accused, the Mumbai Police had sent a team to Raipur.
Reports indicate that the threatening phone call was received at the Bandra police station in Mumbai, prompting the authorities to take action. However, Shah Rukh Khan’s team has not yet officially confirmed any details regarding the incident.
Following the threat, security outside Shah Rukh Khan's Mumbai residence, Mannat, has been significantly heightened by the Mumbai Police. This comes after similar threats were received by Salman Khan, which led to heavy security being deployed at his residence, Galaxy Apartments, with an increased police presence.
