TCS Nashik Case: New details have emerged in the ongoing investigation into allegations of sexual harassment and forced religious conversion at the BPO unit of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) in Maharashtra's Nashik.
Accused Stalked, Harassed Survivors On Social Media
According to a report by NDTV, the police found that the suspects used to stalk and harass survivors and other women employees on social media. The probe revealed that the suspects sent messages to the survivors through various social media platforms, such as Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.

While seven individuals have already been arrested in connection with the case, one accused, Nida Khan, remains at large. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has formed three teams to locate her.
Investigation Underway
The police are currently examining conversations, obscene comments, and objectionable videos allegedly sent by the suspects to survivors and other women colleagues. Investigators are also probing whether the accused targeted other women employees at the office as part of a specific religious agenda.
Authorities believe that digital evidence recovered from the accused's mobile phones and social media accounts will help them solve the case. Technical experts are working to retrieve deleted data and chat logs to secure concrete evidence in the case.
NHRC Issues Notice To Company And Police
The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has intervened, issuing notices to senior police officials and top executives of the company. The Commission has directed the police chiefs of Maharashtra and Nashik district to conduct a thorough investigation and submit an Action Taken Report (ATR).

The NHRC has also asked the company's CEO to submit a comprehensive report including the details of the firm's internal POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) committee, its activities over the past three years, and all complaints received to date, the report added.
Furthermore, the State Labour Commissioner has been tasked to furnish information regarding all TCS branches, BPOs, and subsidiaries across India, alongside their respective registration and licensing documents.
