A ''forged'' obscene video of BJP MP Upendra Singh Rawat surfaced on social media a day after he was fielded from Uttar Pradesh’s Barabanki Lok Sabha seat for the upcoming general elections, police said. The MP claimed that the video was doctored by his opponents to tarnish his image and hoped that the culprits would be caught soon.
Police said that the online circulated video showed a man and a woman in an objectionable position and the man was alleged to be MP Upendra Singh Rawat. Police have lodged an FIR against some unidentified person on the basis of a complaint by the MP’s personal secretary Dinesh Chandra Rawat, Kotwali police station in-charge Aditya Tripathi said.
The FIR claimed that a manipulated and offensive video of the MP was circulated by some individuals to damage his reputation after he became a BJP candidate from one of the 80 Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh.
