Life Lessons From Ramayana: Ramayana is an epic that Maharishi Valmiki wrote in Sanskrit around the eighth century BCE. One of the oldest and longest epics in Hindu literature, the Ramayana contains about 500 chapters and 24,000 lines divided into seven parts. It describes the life of Lord Ram, one of the most significant deities in Hinduism. However, from the perspective of an Indian, there are many facets to this amazing sacred text that served as the cornerstone of Hinduism's revolutionary religious, cultural, and traditional principles. 1. Equivalent Respect - Lord Rama and Mata Sita are the epitome of what a marriage should be: respect for one another. Their bond was based on a profound respect for one another's values, traits, and uniqueness. Mata Sita was highly regarded by Lord Rama, and he respected her judgement. Similarly to Mata Sita, Lord Rama was greatly recognised for his knowledge and persistent devotion to dharma. Because of their shared regard, trust and understanding were built on a solid foundation.
2. Living With Morality - The importance of Dharma in one's life is the first and most crucial lesson to be learned from the Ramayana. Lord Ram consistently lived a morally upright life, carrying out his obligations as a good son, a good husband, and a good king. This encourages us to carry out our responsibilities and moral obligations with unwavering honesty.

3. Acts Of Selflessness - The selfless deeds and sacrifices made by Lord Rama for the benefit of his family serve as a powerful message for married couples. In response to Mata Sita's abduction by Ravana, Lord Rama set out on an uphill struggle to rescue her, exhibiting his unending love and determination to go to any lengths for his wife. This act of selflessness and sacrifice underlines how crucial it is to prioritise the needs of one's partner before personal preferences.
4. Keep Away Arrogance And Ego - As a strong and prosperous monarch, Ravana's pride and arrogance made him feel like he could accomplish whatever he wanted. His malicious motives and drive ultimately led to his demise, which is not only recognised today but also entrenched him as history's greatest villain of all time. Self-conceit, egotism, and arrogance create pseudo-authority over others and the beginning of one's demise.
5. Good Wins Over Evil - One of the most popular and acclaimed lessons from the Ramayana is that Goodness always triumphs over Evil no matter how big and powerful Evil appears to be or is. The monumental occasion of Shri Rama killing the devious Ravana solidifies this essential truth. The celebration of this day continues today around the world as Dussehra and Diwali.
