On the anniversary of Lord Hanuman's birth, Hindus celebrate the auspicious festival of Hanuman Jayanti. Devotees commemorate the day with tremendous fervour and devotion each year. To pray to Lord Hanuman, people adore him, chant mantras, read the Hanuman Chalisa, and observe a fast. In particular areas, the festival is also celebrated with processions and other festivities. Hanuman Jayanti is observed on the full moon day of Shukla Paksha in the month of Chaitra, people celebrate Hanuman Jayanti.  This year, Hanuman Jayanti will be celebrated on 23rd April 2024.

Hanuman Jayanti 2024: List Of Things To Purchase On Hanuman Jayanti 

1. Idol Or Image Of Lord Hanuman 

On the day of Hanuman Jayanti, it is considered auspicious to bring the idol or image of Hanuman ji home. You are welcome to bring a statue or idol of Hanuman ji that is either in a seated or standing position. 

2. Jai Pataka (Flag) 

It's also highly recommended to bring Jai Pataka or Hanuman Ji's flag at home during Hanuman Jayanti. This flag must be placed on the entryway of the house. 

3. Red Coloured Items 

Red is Hanuman Ji's favourite colour. Hence, it is considered auspicious to purchase red items on Hanuman Jayanti day, such as red clothing or red flowers.

4. Vermillion (Sindur) 

Sindoor holds great significance for Hanuman ji. Consequently, it is exceedingly auspicious to purchase vermillion on Hanuman Jayanti. 

5. Saffron (Kesar) 

Saffron is also considered very dear to Hanuman Ji. Bringing saffron home and worshipping Lord Hanuman with it is considered highly auspicious on Hanuman Jayanti.

6. Fruits And Sweets 

It is considered auspicious to offer fruits and sweets to Lord Hanuman on the day of Hanuman Jayanti. Bring home your favourite fruits, such as bananas, apples, and oranges, on Hanuman Jayanti, and present them to Lord Hanuman.
