- Bhairo Nath Is The Protector Deity - The entire Kedarnath Temple area is under the protection of the temple lord Bhairo Nath. He is also known as Kshetrapal. Lord Shiva in his most vicious form is Bhairo Nath. He is endowed with divine abilities that allow him to wipe out the cosmos. Bhairo Nath guards Kedarnath Temple from evil spirits during the winter months when it is blanketed in snow. For this reason, on the days when the Kedarnath Temple opens and closes, Bhairo Nath is also worshipped.
- Highest Among All Lord Shiva Temples - The Kedarnath Temple is located in Uttarakhand, high in the Himalayan foothills. It is 3,583 metres (11,755 feet) above the ground. As a result, it has the highest location of any Shiva temple in India.
