'Mari Hundi Swikaro Maharaj Re, Saanvara Giradhaaree...', Everyone must have heard this bhajan composed by Bhakt Narsinh Mehta. The most faithful devotee of Lord Krishna, Narsinh Mehta is known by everyone who worships Kanha and even the elders share his story with their kids. So let's recall the story and talk about the place where years ago Lord Krishna accepted Narsinh Mehta's hundi.. The important thing is that Lord Dwarkadhish accepted Narsinh Mehta's hundi near the Chhappan Stairs of Dwarka temple. Deepak Bhai Thakar, the priest of Dwarkadhish temple shares about this mythological place and its significance.

Deepakbhai, the Vardar priest of Dwarkadhish temple, revealed that someone in Junagadh had jokingly told Narsinh Mehta that Shamliya Seth in Dwarka accepts everyone's hundi. However, in reality, there was no Shamliya Seth in Dwarka. People took advantage of Narsinh Mehta's innocence. A trader came to the city and asked who writes the hundi in Junagadh. People mentioned the name of Narsinh Mehta. When the trader came to him, he wrote the hundi for him and sent him to Dwarka. Narsinh Mehta was a great devotee of Lord Krishna, so Lord Dwarkadhish accepted the dowry in the form of Shamliya Seth. Since then Lord Krishna is also worshipped as Shamliya Seth. At the place on the banks of Gomti where the Lord accepted the hundi of Narsinh Mehta, there is a centuries-old temple with a spire.

In this temple, just like the Jagat Mandir, the Chaturbhuj form of Lord Dwarkadhish is enthroned. The priests who worship in the Dwarkadhish temple also worship Shamaliya Seth in this temple as per their turn. The only difference here is that this temple is managed by the priests separately from the Devasthan Committee. During the daily worship of Lord Krishna, the two-time bhog from the Bhog Bhandar of Dwarkadhish Temple is offered to Shamaliya Seth in this temple. Just like Lord Dwarkadhishji is worshipped in the Jagat Mandir, Shamaliya Seth is worshipped in this temple.

Any devotee who is in financial trouble and seeks blessings at the feet of Shamaliya Seth (Dwarkadhishji) at this temple, all his troubles are removed. Just like Shamaliya Seth had accepted the dowry of Narsinh Mehta, in the same way, he also accepts the hundi of the devotees coming here. Even today, if any auspicious event takes place in someone's house and he is in financial trouble, then he comes here and prays with a true heart, then Shamliya Seth removes his financial troubles. The ancient idol of this temple was made of sandstone. After a period of dilapidation, the priest family restored its prestige in 1980 or 1985. This idol is made of Wadhwani black stone.
