5 Things You Should Never Do On Pradosh Vrat
Pradosh Vrat holds immense spiritual importance in Shaivite tradition. So, when observing a fast on this day, one should avoid these things:
1. Know The Right Time For The Puja Ritual
The right time to perform Lord Shiva puja is as important as doing the morning puja. It is believed that performing the puja at an inauspicious time can reduce the effects of vrat. So, devotees should know the exact time of Pradosh kaal to maintain the vrat.
2. Avoid Non- Sattvic Food
Devotees should avoid consuming tamasic food on this day as it is believed to disturb the spiritual purity of the vrat. These include non-vegetarian food, grains, alcohol, onions, garlic or white salt. Instead, consume sattvic food like fruits, as it is believed to calm the mind and help in concentration during worship.
3. Do Not Offer Certain Items To Lord Shiva During Worship
Since Pradosh vrat is dedicated to Lord Shiva, devotees should avoid certain things during his worship. These items include tulsi, Ketaki flowers, broken rice and turmeric.
4. Avoid Anger And Arguments

5. Not Cleaning The Puja Space
It is important to clean the puja space before worship. A cluttered puja space is believed to have negative energy and is not considered ideal for worship.
