Sankashti Chaturthi May 2025: Ekdanta Sankashti Chaturthi will be observed on 16th May 2025. The sacred fast of Sankashti Chaturthi is observed on the Chaturthi tithi of Krishna Paksha of every Hindu lunar month. The fast of Sankashti Chaturthi brings numerous benefits, including overcoming obstacles, improved health, success and prosperity.
Sankashti Chaturthi is incomplete without puja and rituals devoted to Lord Ganesha. In order to appease him and ask for blessings for the removal of obstacles, the devotees must observe traditional puja vidhi and recite Ganesh mantras with faith on this auspicious day.

Prior to starting Lord Ganesha's puja during Sankashti Chaturthi, do not forget to put on the janeu (holy thread) around the idol in the right way. The thread represents purity and spiritual duty. Wear it prior to the commencement of the puja. Start by cleaning your house and particularly the puja space well. A clean place welcomes positive energy and reflects respect. After the area has been cleaned, put the idol of Lord Ganesha in a reverent and higher position, either facing east or west for good fortune.

Adorn the idol with newly cut flowers, colourful garlands, and vibrant decorations to provide a lively and heavenly ambience. These represent purity, commitment and celebration. Place Ganesha's favourite sweets, such as modaks, laddus, fruits and other prasad before him with humility. These symbolise gratitude and attract prosperity. Burn incense sticks and diyas (oil lamps) to cleanse the area and eliminate negativity. Camphor can also be used at the time of aarti to increase the spiritual ambience and purity of the ritual.
Chant religious prayers like the "Ganesha Atharvashirsha" to get Lord Ganesha's blessings and presence. They enhance spiritual bonding and get rid of mental and physical blocks. Follow every step with faith and devotion so as to get the ultimate divine favour of Lord Ganesha on Sankashti Chaturthi.
