Chinese Zodiac Signs: Twelve animal signs comprise the Chinese zodiac, or Chinese astrology, which was established thousands of years ago. These signs rotate annually to create a 12-year cycle. The Chinese zodiac is not connected to the Western astrological system, which uses the 12-star signs of Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces to determine compatibility, provide horoscopes, and offer personality traits. The Chinese zodiac is based on birth year, but Western astrology is based on birth month. This is one notable distinction between the two systems, even though they are both based on birthdate.
Let us check out which are the 12 Chinese Zodiac signs and also know how you can calculate your animal zodiac sign as per Chinese Astrology.

How To Calculate Your Chinese Zodiac Sign?
- First, find the year of your birth on the Chinese Zodiac. Recall that the Chinese zodiac is based on a 12-year cycle, with each year denoting a different animal. 2024 will correspond with the animal Dragon.
- Find your birth year and compare it to the Chinese zodiac sign that corresponds with it. You will learn your zodiac symbol by identifying which animal corresponds to which sign.
- It's important to remember that, unlike the English New Year, the Chinese New Year doesn't necessarily start on January 1. Every year, it fluctuates and typically occurs in the Gregorian calendar between January 21 and February 20. On the other hand, this year's Chinese New Year was on February 10, 2024.

- If you were born in January or February, things become a little complicated. Confirm the Chinese New Year's precise date according to the year of your birth. If your zodiac sign occurs before your birthdate, it may connect to the year prior. This explains the difference in the commencement date of the Chinese New Year.
