Apple WWDC 2024 AI Expectations: Cupertino-based tech giant Apple was relatively silent (when compared to the competition) on AI-based enhancements across its product line last year. This might change in 2024 as the company is reportedly working on a range of AI tweaks, which may debut at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) this year.
According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, the company may introduce these tweaks with iOS 18 at WWDC in June this year. In his "Power On" newsletter, the journalist noted that the tech maker has been testing its large language model Ajax since last year ahead of a release. The company may announce features such as auto-summarising and auto-complete in its core services such as Keynote and Pages.
Apple Music may be supercharged with AI for automated playlist generation. Among the top contenders awaiting a revamp is Siri. The company is planning a "big overhaul" for its virtual assistant via artificial intelligence. Xcode, the company's developer-centric service, may also get an AI-powered version. Plus, Gurman noted a new AI system to allow AppleCare staff to troubleshoot problems of customers is in the works.

While Samsung is all set to unleash its AI-packed phones at Galaxy Unpacked 2024, Apple may expand the complete dispersal of AI services to 2025. The recent speculations come on the expected lines as reports in the past have hinted that the company may talk at length about the AI enhancements at its next major tech showcase.
On a related note, the company also contacted top news outlets to license their copyrighted content to train its AI model. With the AI announcements, Apple will be better placed to take on its tech rivals, including Microsoft, Samsung and Google, who have been vocal about their AI initiatives amid the remarkable rise of OpenAI's ChatGPT. The search leader already offers hardware-based integrations of AI features in the flagship Google Pixel 8 Pro.
