GOOGLE, a California-based technology company has announced that it would be adding VPN services with all the Google One subscriptions even with the basic plan that is priced at $1.99 per month. For those unversed, the Google One subscription is a service that offers extended cloud storage with a series of features like automatic phone backup, a more secured platform, and more.
In a blog post, the company announced that VPN would be added to the Google One services and is already available in 22 different countries across the world with Android, iOS, Mac, and Windows devices. "VPN by Google One gives extra security to your internet activities, regardless of the apps or browsers you use, by disguising your IP address and concealing it from hackers or network operators," said the company in the blog post.
Interestingly, the VPN service was limited to the Google One subscription with only 2TB and higher plans but now will be accessible with the basic plans as well. For those who are unfamiliar, the company provides VPN for customers who want to visit sites and applications without giving their IP address, allowing them to mask their location and activities for safety concerns.
Meanwhile, the company has introduced the Dark Web Report feature for United State users which allows them to monitor personal digital information. The dark web report from Google One will assist customers in searching the dark web for their personal data, including name, address, email, phone number, and Social Security number, and will alert them if any are discovered.
"Dark web reports will begin rolling out to members across all Google One plans in the US over the following several weeks," the tech giant announced.
