Instagram appears to be working on a number of new user interface updates to improve the platform's user experience, and it has recently unveiled a new feature for music lovers. With the new functionality, users will be able to include 30 seconds of music in their profile bios.
Do note that the song will not play automatically and must be listened to manually. Users could previously contribute music to their posts and stories, but starting today, they will be able to upload new songs to their profiles just like they can now add descriptions.

If you want to add a song, you will have to tap on the edit profile option search for it choose a track from Instagram's licensed music library (same as for Reels and posts) and then select the favourite 30-second part of the song.
As per Instagram, the bio will now add a new category called Taste wherein it will showcase the selected song. This song will be available on the profile till the user chooses to delete or modify it with the new one.
Instagram has also collaborated with Espresso singer Sabrina Carpenter to promote the feature. Instagram will also offer a glimpse of her unreleased tracks via this feature to the users.

Further, the Meta-owned Instagram has also introduced colours to its Notes. Using words like "Demure", "Cutesy", "Considerate", and "Mindful" can trigger a pink colour. Previously, the gold notes grabbed a lot of attention but later the reports confirmed the removal of the feature.
Meanwhile, the platform is testing new vertical rectangle grids from the square format for profile pages. Some of the users spotted the new layout which has been testing since 2023. Instagram Head Adam Mosseri also hinted that such a feature is being tested on Friday.
