Back in September 2024, Reliance Jio made headlines by launching the JioAICloud Welcome Offer, promising 100 GB of free cloud storage for users on its network. But fast forward to now, and the offer has seen a bit of a downgrade. Jio has quietly trimmed the storage down to 50 GB, meaning new users who sign up for the offer will only get half of what was originally advertised.

Still, even with the revised figure, it stacks up well against cloud storage options from big names like Google, Microsoft, and Apple. In fact, “the offer given by Jio is still a best offer,” especially considering the AI features baked into the platform.

Non-Jio Users Get a Taste Too — With a Time Limit

You don’t have to be on the Jio network to try JioCloud. “Non-Jio users can also get 50 GB free cloud storage,” the company says — but there’s a catch. That free space is only valid for the first 90 days. Meanwhile, users on Jio’s network get longer validity, although the company has hinted that this might change in the future: “It is also being said that the company may start charging you for this after some time but for now this cloud storage is completely free.”

Already Claimed the Offer? You’re Safe

If you were an early bird and have already redeemed the JioAICloud Welcome Offer, you’re in luck. “Those who have already redeemed the JioAICloud Welcome Offer can enjoy up to 100GB of free storage at no extra cost.” But for everyone else, 50 GB is the new norm.

To get access, all you need to do is recharge with any plan priced above ₹299, and then redeem the offer either through the MyJio app or by downloading the JioCloud app.

AI Features Add Extra Value

JioCloud isn’t just about free storage anymore. The company has introduced some nifty AI-powered tools, such as AI Photo Play, which lets users “convert regular photos into animated images with the power to create Ghibli-style portraits for free.” That’s a pretty unique perk, especially if you like to get creative with your digital memories.

Easy Access, Seamless Integration

One of the biggest strengths of JioCloud is its ease of use. You can save your photos, videos, audio files and digital documents and access them across devices. Plus, there’s DigiLocker integration, which means “it is easy to download and access all your government-issued documents and certificates in one place.”

So, while the free storage cap may have been cut in half, Jio’s cloud offering still packs a punch — especially for users looking for a user-friendly platform with added AI-powered extras.
