Sennheiser has brought two of its latest premium wireless audio products to India. The company has launched the Momentum 5 Wireless headphones and Momentum True Wireless 5 earbuds, with both models focusing on active noise cancellation, spatial audio and longer battery life.
The Momentum 5 Wireless is the over-ear option, while the Momentum True Wireless 5 is aimed at those who prefer a smaller, completely wireless design. Both models also come with something that is becoming increasingly uncommon in premium wireless audio products: batteries that users can replace.

The Momentum 5 Wireless has been priced at Rs. 39,990, while the Momentum True Wireless 5 costs Rs. 29,990.

Both headphones can be pre-ordered in India through online platforms, offline retail stores and Sennheiser's website. They will be available for regular purchase from October 1.
Sennheiser is also offering an incentive for early buyers. Those who pre-order either model will receive the BTD 600 Bluetooth USB dongle, which is worth Rs. 5,990. Buyers may also get additional offers depending on the platform they use to place the order.
What Do You Get With the Momentum 5 Wireless?
The Momentum 5 Wireless is built around 42mm dynamic drivers, with Sennheiser saying their development takes inspiration from its HD 600 series. Hi-Res Audio and Snapdragon Sound, along with aptX Lossless and Dolby Atmos, are also packed inside the headphones.
Dolby Atmos is paired with interactive head tracking, so the sound can change as the listener moves their head. There is also adaptive ANC, handled by an eight-microphone hybrid system. Sennheiser claims that the new headphones offer up to three times stronger midrange noise reduction than the previous Momentum 4.
Calls are handled by four microphones on each side. The headphones use beamforming and noise reduction to help pick up the user's voice more clearly in noisy surroundings.
Bluetooth 5.4 is supported, along with SBC, AAC, aptX, aptX HD, aptX Lossless and aptX Adaptive codecs. A gaming mode is also in development and will be added through a future firmware update.
Battery life is one of the bigger changes here. The biggest selling point here for the Momentum 5 Wireless is that it has a 700mAh lithium-ion battery that can be replaced, and the claims are that Sennheiser supports up to 57 hours of playback when the ANC is kept on. A quick 10-minute charge can apparently add up to seven hours of listening time.
The headphones can be managed through the Smart Control Plus app for Android and iOS. It includes an eight-band equaliser and sound personalisation options. The ear pads are replaceable too, and buyers get both USB-C and 3.5mm audio cables in the box.
Sennheiser has also made changes to the carrying case. It is now 20 percent flatter, while the company says it has cut packaging by 16 percent. Firmware updates for the DSP and wireless components are supported as well.
Momentum True Wireless 5 Specifications
The Momentum True Wireless 5 takes the same premium approach in a much smaller package. The earbuds use 7mm TrueResponse dynamic drivers and support 24-bit/96kHz audio through aptX Adaptive and aptX Lossless.
There is adaptive ANC here too, with the system designed to respond to changes in surrounding noise as well as wind. If users want to stay aware of their surroundings, the Natural Transparency mode allows ambient sounds to pass through without having to remove the earbuds.
Each earbud has four microphones, including bone-conduction microphones. Sennheiser has also used AI-powered speech extraction and beamforming to improve voice pickup and reduce unwanted background noise during calls.
The earbuds support Bluetooth 6.0 and multipoint connectivity. The Smart Control Plus app brings the eight-band equaliser and sound personalisation features to the smaller model as well.
Sennheiser claims up to 12 hours of playback with ANC switched off. With ANC enabled, the figure drops to up to six hours. The charging case takes the overall claimed battery life to 40 hours.
The replaceable battery approach extends to both the earbuds and their charging case. The case supports USB-C as well as Qi wireless charging, and an eight-minute charge is claimed to provide up to an hour of music playback.
Each earbud weighs 7g and uses a fin-free design. For dust and water resistance, the devices also come with an IP54 rating. This time the charging case is also slimmer, and inside the box there are XS, S, M and L silicone ear adapters and a battery replacement tool.
Colourways
When it comes to the colourways both the devices sport Denim and Lavender shades. The over-ear headphones also come in Black, with White and Bronze versions set to arrive later.

The Momentum True Wireless 5 is additionally offered in Graphite and Cream.
With the two new models, Sennheiser is giving Indian buyers a choice between a flagship over-ear pair and a premium true wireless option. The replaceable batteries, along with adaptive ANC and Dolby Atmos with head tracking, are among the key features shared across the two new products.
