Truke, a budget TWS maker, launched the Truke Clarity Five earbuds in India on August 22. The manufacturer markets the buds as the 'First Calling Centric TWS' in the country thanks to their six-microphone setup and Environmental Noise Cancellation (ENC) technology. Along with excellent calling, the earbuds boast an appealing design and impressive battery life.

So, should this be on your list if you are out in the market looking for a new TWS under Rs 1,500? Well, I will try to answer this question in my in-depth review.

Design and Fit:

The case and buds come with a combination of matte and glossy finish. Although the company has blended them intelligently, the shiny part (which accentuates the looks) is susceptible to scratches and finger marks. As for the fit, I had no problems despite wearing them for hours and using them during sports activities.

Truke Clarity Five Sound Quality:

Clarity Five TWS has three audio profiles. For bass enthusiasts and binge-watchers, the device offers a 'Bass Boost' and 'Movie Mode' (which emphasise vocals) respectively. I would suggest you stick to 'Dynamic Audio' mode, which serves fine in most cases. The 13mm drivers make sure the bass is adequate to get you vibing, and the vocals are clear. But Truke can enhance the sound stage and refine the treble to serve detail lovers in future units. In its current form, the Clarity Five is an ideal choice for bass lovers.

Speaking of calling, the TWS offers one of the best calling experiences under Rs 1,500. Thanks to the 'six mic ENC technology,' which, according to Truke is exclusive to their products (at least until the launch of this TWS), ensure calls are crystal clear indoors and outdoors. The Buds are an easy recommendation for individuals who answer a lot of calls during the day.

Gaming and Connectivity:

While Truke is promising 35ms 'ultra-low latency' for gaming, I noticed minor lags in fast-action games. However, they are not a deal breaker as such. Thanks to Bluetooth 5.3, I had no problems pairing the earbuds with Android devices. Plus, dual switching also works well across devices depending on the audio requirements of users. From opening Google Assistant to changing audio profiles, the touch controls are well-tuned too.

Battery:

Just like the previous offerings we tested of Truke, you can just charge and stay worry-free for at least a week or ten days. For context, during my testing, I used them for around five hours daily at 80-85 per cent volume and charged them on the 9th day with little juice still left. I believe the battery backup will be sufficient to serve a majority of users.

Scope of Improvement:

While Truke has improved the vocals part of the audio that I flagged in my previous review, there is still room for improvement in overall sound output. The company can focus on emphasising treble and instrumental notes in their future offerings. However, as it stands, the Clarity Five are a valuable option for those who enjoy bass-heavy audio.

Should You Buy The Truke Clarity Five?

To sum it up, if you are in search of a True Wireless Stereo (TWS) earbud that offers an exceptional calling experience, worry-free battery life, premium and sleek design and prefer bass over peculiar notes, the Clarity Five is a good bargain for the price. You can currently buy the TWS for Rs 1,299 on Flipkart, Amazon India and Truke.in.
