A Tajikistani pregnant woman, her brother and her Indian husband were assaulted by a neighbour and his friends over a garbage dispute in front of the police, who allegedly did not take any action even 22 days after the incident. The incident took place on September 29 in Deeksha KCR Town of Malpura in Agra where Nilufar Makhsudov, a resident of Tajikistan, lives with her husband Arjun Kumar.

According to police, her brother Murodjan Makhsudov had come to India on a tourist visa last month. Nilufar, who is pregnant, had an argument with Sunil Chahar, who lives below her residence and his wife Neha over throwing garbage. She informed the police control room after the incident but they accused that no action was taken against the culprits.

The Tajikistani woman said that her neighbour, Sunil called some of his associates and they attacked her in front of the police, who did not intervene. When her brother and husband tried to save her, they were also beaten up by Sunil and his associates.

The woman alleged that the police only took her husband and brother to the police station and kept them there for several hours. Police also issued a challan under section 151 against them and a young man from the other party.      

The Tajikistani woman visited the police station repeatedly for action but no action was taken by the authorities. She also went to the Commissioner’s office four times but could not meet Commissioner Preetinder Singh due to his busy schedule.

On Friday, a case was registered on the orders of senior authorities. Police station in-charge Ajay Singh said that an agreement was reached between the two parties at the police station but pressure for a case was being created by the foreign woman. He did not explain why it took three days to register the case after the order of the Police Commissioner.
