The Uttar Pradesh government is set to expand its urban transport network with environmentally friendly electric buses. Private operators will be allowed to participate in the city bus service, connecting larger cities with neighboring towns.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath instructed officials to regulate fares, designate parking areas, and determine routes for the buses. He also directed that diesel and CNG buses older than 15 years be scrapped and replaced with e-buses.
Addressing parking issues, the Chief Minister called for organised and standardised parking fees, preventing illegal collections. Monthly bus passes will be introduced for local businesses, shopkeepers, office workers, and others. He also stressed the need for uniformity in advertisement hoardings, prioritising electronic display boards over hazardous ones and ensuring the immediate removal of illegal hoardings.

Furthermore, the Chief Minister directed the development of a detailed plan to upgrade district headquarters into smart municipalities, focusing on digital governance, citizen services, waterlogging monitoring, smart parking, and renewable energy projects. He also urged municipalities to increase their revenue and expedite the issuance of municipal bonds.
Finally, he addressed the issue of stray dog bites and called for a permanent solution. Inspired by the success of Prayagraj's Shivalik Park, built from waste materials, similar parks themed around Krishna and LuvKush will be created in Mathura-Vrindavan and Ayodhya, respectively.
