Ghaziabad passengers have welcomed the introduction of special festival trains ahead of Diwali and Chhath Puja, offering much-needed travel relief. The Delhi Division has launched over a dozen special trains, two of which include stops in Ghaziabad.
The Mau-Delhi-Ambala Special Festival Express will halt at Ghaziabad, running from Mau Junction every Thursday from October 2 to November 27, and from Ambala Cantonment Junction every Friday from October 3 to November 28.
Similarly, the Jabalpur-Anand Vihar Special Festival Express will stop in Ghaziabad, running from Jabalpur every Monday from September 29 to November 3, and from Anand Vihar every Tuesday from September 30 to November 4.
To ensure passenger safety, RPF and GRP Station House Officers will personally oversee the departure of these trains from Ghaziabad under strict security protocols.
Additional security measures include ropes on platforms and pathways to manage queues, and a holding area will be created at the station with RPF personnel deployed. RPF Station House Officer Chetan Prakash confirmed that 30 additional security personnel have been requested to strengthen security during the festival period.

However, passengers expressed disappointment that the Shram Shakti Express does not have a stop in Ghaziabad, despite a large number of travellers from Ghaziabad and Noida. Residents have long demanded a stop to this train and have submitted a memorandum to the city’s Member of Parliament.
