Viral Video: Despite it being one of the most gruesome crimes that one can commit, the cases of people dying by suicide have only seen an increase over the period of time all across the world. A couple in Uttar Pradesh’s Sultanpur decided to walk the same path as they allegedly decided to die together by suicide. With the aim to execute their questionable plan, the two allegedly jumped into a river. However, their plans failed after they were saved by some fishermen. A video of the same was shared online, which began to do rounds on the internet. However, more than the rescue, what actually made the clip go viral was what the fisherman did next after saving the duo.

Seemingly teaching the man a much-needed lesson, the fisherman slapped him thrice, meanwhile, the rest attempted to help the woman. Judging by the angle, the said video was recorded by onlookers who were standing on the bridge. The date of the incident could not be confirmed.

The video was shared on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘askrajeshsahu’. The post was captioned, “In Sultanpur, a boy and a girl jumped into the river to die but were saved by some fellow fishermen. After this, the fisherman's friend cured the lover's love disease by giving him three strong blows. The heartfelt desire of the spectators standing outside was that some more slaps should be rained upon him.”

The video was shared two days ago and pulled 612K views from people.

Taking to the comment section, people shared their take. “Why do people go out to die with their faces held high? If these people die, who will benefit? It would be better if both of them get married and stay alive for their families,” a user said. “I don't like this discrimination, are our girls any less than boys? The girl should also receive some scolding or punishment. She also tried to die,” added a second person.

“This is an advanced era, women are walking shoulder to shoulder with men, hence there should have been no discrimination, the girlfriend should also have been given her share of scolding,” added another. “Why do people commit such crimes? Before killing oneself, please think about the rest as well,” added a fourth user.
