Lucknow Men Smash Woman’s Car Window For Allegedly Hitting Them; Internet Chooses Sides | Viral Video

Viral Video: Accused of hit-and-run cases should never go unpunished, but taking laws in hand to punish the same accused is also not exactly an ideal move. Something similar reportedly unfolded in Lucknow’s Chinhat area, where a woman allegedly drove away after hitting two bike-riding men. However, in their attempt to teach her a lesson, the men chased her down and broke her car’s window, while she was in the car. A video of the said men aggressively smashing the window glass was shared on social media, which went viral.

The clip was recorded from inside the car, whereas the date of the incident could not be confirmed. As the said clip went viral, it came under the notice of the Lucknow Police, who further updated on the incident. As per the police, a case has been registered in the matter, and an investigation is underway.

The clip, on the other hand, drew wide criticism from people against the woman as they believed that it was her fault at first. However, many also chastised the men for their violence against the women and for taking laws into their own hands.

The video, soon after getting shared, went viral and received a divided reaction. Most people pointed out that it was the woman who hit the men first, while some questioned the extreme lengths to which the men went in order to ‘avenge’ the hit. Some also dubbed the incident a case of ‘hooliganism’.

The video was shared on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘himansulive’. The post was captioned, “Full hooliganism of bullies on the streets of the capital #Lucknow ... havoc wreaked on a woman in a car! #VideoViral of the incident in Chinhat area.” The video was shared yesterday and pulled 273K views from people.

Responding to the matter the Lucknow Police commented on the video. The Hindi comment roughly meant, “The above person was injured when the woman hit the motorcycle of the youth with her car, after which the opposition chased the car on a motorcycle, stopped the car, broke the glass, and abused them. A case has been registered on the complaint of the complainants and both the accused have been arrested.”

Taking to the comment section, people shared their take. “If the woman had hit one of their loved ones and left then it would have been known. Think a little, a woman can also do wrong things,” a user said.

“This is a case of road rage. A report has been filed by both the parties. The police are investigating,” read a second post.

“If this is the condition of the capital Lucknow, then tell me what would have happened to the city! The government should take action,” added another.

“Because she is a woman, did the bike riders get the right to hit her? If that bike rider were you, would you have posted something like this?” asked a fourth person.
