Viral Video: The only city that can give any kind of ‘competition’ to Bangalore when it comes to ‘housing’ issues, is the city of dreams, Mumbai. However, as far as the dream of owning a ‘cosy house in Mumbai’ is concerned, the city is surely crushing it without even trying. There's no denying the fact that Mumbai has been making headlines from time to time for its tiny yet extremely expensive flats. And now, a video of a new flat proving the same surfaced online, and further compelled people to rethink their ‘residential’ dreams in the ‘Mayanagri’. The said flat is a 2 BHK, that is built under 323 Sq Ft. However, what made the video further attention-worthy was its price; 75 lakh. Yes, let that sink in, because you have to be real rich before you get a place in Mumbai!
The video was shared on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘VishalBhargava5’. The post was captioned, “2BHK of a meagre 323 sqft. Only in Mumbai. Yet this is not the smallest. A project by Xrbia at Ghatkopar had a 2BHK in 295sqft. That's why I say- If you can't sell a home in Mumbai, you can't sell a home anywhere in the world."

The video, soon after getting shared, began to do rounds on social media. Some people lauded the design and called it a ‘smart home’ but were quick to question its staggering price of Rs 75 lakh, while the rest found the Mumbai flat situation hilarious and cracked jokes on the same. The post was shared yesterday and pulled 60K views from people.

Taking to the comment section, people shared their take. “Can easily shave off a few dozen sqm. Can keep the commode directly under the shower - waste of space there. No need for any walking area in the bedroom too. Rookie builder,” a user joked. “Where do you shower? Genuine question,” asked another. “What is the target audience? Business Travellers or Corporations giving it to their staff as service apartments instead of hotel stays?” said another.
“Looking at this flat was nauseating for me,” recalled a next. “Looks like a caravan. Although such smart design in a 700 sqft+ will be truly amazing,” said the next. “This is hilarious, it’s become a parody,” added fifth person.
“These are tricks played to make it affordable, as the prices are abnormally high compared to cities in the developed countries where per capita income and affordability are high,” joined a sixth netizen.
