Vada Pav Girl Viral Video: The stall might be for Mumbai’s popular snack, Vada Pao, but the reason behind the headlines is surely not the food and is instead the seller, Delhi’s infamous Vada Pao girl. Chandrika Dixit, more popular by the name the Vada Pao girl, is back with another controversy; this time, videos claim that she has been arrested. A recent video went viral, claiming that the Delhi Police arrested the seller on April 30.
Now, the Delhi police have responded to the viral claims and denied taking Chandrika Dixit in custody. However, the police said that the Vada Pav girl was taken to the police station on complaints from the residents but no case was filed against her and she was allowed to go home after a while. Sharing the videos, social media users claimed that the Delhi police arrested Chandrika Dixit after she attempted to hold a Bhandara (Community Feast) on her son's birthday.
What Delhi Police Said On Vada Pav Girl's Arrest:
According to officials, Chandrika Dixit, popularly known as 'vada pav' girl, has been running a food stall in the Mangolpuri area of outer Delhi. A few days ago, she had posted a video showing an altercation between her and locals while she was organizing a community feast near her stall.
Officials said that the feast led to a huge gathering near her stall, which hampered traffic in the area. The police had received complaints from residents about the traffic jam in the area. Following the complaint, a team of police reached there and took Dixit to the police station.
"When there was a huge crowd at her cart and a complaint was made against her, at that time she was detained for some time. There was no case registered against the vada pav seller, and she was not arrested," the police said, as quoted by news agency ANI.
What Social Media Users Claimed?
The video depicting Chandrika Dixit's arrest was shared on the social media handle ‘PyaraBetaa’, with the caption, “Breaking Vadapao Part 5, Vadapao girl has been arrested by the police.” The video, shared on April 28, was viewed 3K times. The video insanely went viral and pulled all kinds of comments from netizens. A majority supported the move by the Delhi police, while the rest called her a ‘constant nuisance’. Taking to the comment section, people shared their take. “Mayawati ji ne arrest karva diya. (Mayawati must have made the police arrest her),” a user joked. “Of course, she is finally arrested. After all, this drama is all she is about. Always some or the other thing takes place with her. It's her who makes the controversial headline, not her basic vadapaos,” added a second person.
“Filth like this deserves to be in the Psych ward for a long time,” said a third person. “Well done, a much-needed move. She was creating a lot of mess every other day.
