Viral Video: The Indian Railways is facing public scrutiny and the reason is yet again the ‘classic’ crowd of ticketless passengers. A video surfaced online where such passengers without tickets creating issues for passengers with reserved seats was highlighted at its peak. In the video, several ticketless passengers blocked the entryway, denying the train’s entry to a passenger with a ticket. The struggle went on for a while, eventually forcing the man outside the train to take an aggressive action. Frustrated by the unfair scenario, the man with the reserved seat broke the train’s door glass.
A video of the same was shared online, which immediately went viral. The date and location of the incident could not be confirmed, netizens regardless sided with the man and chastised the authorities for lack of control over such matters.
The video was shared on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘Arhant Shelby’. The post was reshared on the handle ‘Ghar ke kalesh’, with the caption, “Kalesh b/w Passengers in Indian railway (train no. 12226 kaifiyaat SF express) over man with reserved seat breaking glass after passengers without tickets did not let him board the 3rd ac.”

Taking to the comment section, people shared their irked reactions. “AC3 in general these days, AC2 what used to be AC-3. If you can, please avoid railways and drive yourself. It’s not about the government, it’s actually about the paying capacity of people and the kinda of people who get to travel in these classes. Call me elitist, it’s okay. I gave up on railways way back, I drive,” a user said.
“Bilkul sahi kiya (He did the right thing). Indian Railways have become pathetic these days,” added a second person. “3 tier AC coach is just a general coach with AC. This should be stopped,” commented a third person. “100s of such videos are posted daily on Twitter. Show me a single person who seems satisfied by the service of railways. But still, the Government doesn’t seem to care,” added another,” wrote a fourth user.
