Several European news organisations, including Ireland’s RTÉ, Britain’s Sky, and Bulgaria’s Nova TV, were forced to halt live broadcasts and evacuate staff on Friday following bomb threats. However, no explosives were found. RTÉ temporarily aired pre-recorded content during the disruption.
The incident coincided with a series of fresh bomb threats targeting commercial flights across Europe, adding to recent false alarms that forced emergency landings and diversions on routes connecting Serbia, Finland, Spain, and other countries.
