Hyundai Motors earlier last month launched its most affordable compact SUV, the Exter and the car is receiving a good response from the buyers. As per the data shared by Hyundai, the South Korean automobile giant has so far received 50,000 bookings for Exter since May, when the car was first introduced.
As per Hyundai, over 10,000 bookings were received before the launch of the car on July 10. The number rose to 50,000 within a month. Owing to the high demand, the waiting period for Exter, which was initially estimated to be 12 weeks, has also been extended. According to Hyundai, the sunroof-equipped variants have received over 75% of the bookings. The voice-activated single-pane sunroof is a feature for the Exter SX, SX(O), and SX(O) Connect models.
Hyundai Exter: Power, Features and Safety
The Exter is powered by a 1.2 litre Kappa engine, which also powers other Hyundai cars like the i10 Nios, i20 and Venue. The petrol variant produces 83 bhp and 114 Nm while the CNG variant generates 69 bhp and 95.2 Nm of torque.
Even though the Hyundai Exter is a compact SUV, Hyundai has made sure that it comes equipped with all the features needed to compete with the market. A factory-installed dashcam, automatic projector headlights, keyless entry and ignition, an 8-inch touchscreen, automated climate control, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, wireless charging, and built-in navigation are some of the important features on the subcompact SUV.
Six airbags, ESC, hill assist control, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors and camera, and three-point seatbelts are among the safety features included with the Exter. Though, the Exter has not been crash tested yet.
