Kia EV3 Makes Global Debut: South Korean automaker Kia has revealed its latest electric vehicle, the EV3. The Kia EV3 is a compact SUV designed to be affordable yet offer a premium experience. The EV3 will initially be launched in Korea this July, with other international markets to follow. Kia has announced that the EV3 will launch in Asia in 2025. However, there is no official confirmation on its availability in the Indian market yet.

Kia EV3 - Battery and Range 

In terms of driving range, the top-end variant of the Kia EV3 features an 81.4 kWh battery pack promising a range of 560 km on a single charge. Kia has opted for NCM batteries sourced from LG Solutions over LFP batteries due to their better power output, shorter charging times and superior range. The EV3 also includes V2L technology, enabling it to charge other vehicles and power various appliances. With its 400V architecture, Kia claims the EV3 can charge from 10 per cent to 80 per cent in just 30 minutes.

Kia EV3 - Features 

Talking about features onboard the Kia EV3, it gets ambient lighting, a sliding table console, a 12-inch heads-up display, and a relaxation seat for when the vehicle is parked or charging. The vehicle includes twin screens for the driver's display and infotainment system, which is connected to a Harman Kardon sound system and supports OTA updates. Additionally, drivers can choose from various display themes for a personalised experience. Moreover, Kia is also enhancing its virtual assistant with generative AI, allowing it to perform more advanced functions beyond basic controls. The assistant can answer questions, search for information and suggest places.

Kia EV3 - Additional Details 

Kia EV3 is built on the eGMP platform and shares its foundation with the Kia EV9, EV6, Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6. The eGMP is an electric skateboard platform, positioning the wheels at the vehicle's corners and integrating the battery pack into the floorboard. This design allows for short overhangs and a flat floor, providing ample cabin space. The EV3 focusses on practicality, offering best-in-class storage space of 460 litres, along with an additional storage compartment known as a frunk.
