Skoda Elroq EV Teased: Czech automaker Skoda Auto has released the first teaser for its upcoming Elroq electric compact SUV, which is set to make its global debut later this year. The Elroq will introduce a more affordable electric SUV option within Skoda's lineup and will be the first model to showcase the brand's new 'Modern Solid' design language. This model is the first of six new EVs Skoda plans to launch in the coming years.

Skoda Elroq EV - Design

Talking about the design of the Skoda Elroq EV, the teaser image highlights its split headlight layout featuring LED daytime running lights (DRLs) and Matrix LED lamps. The SUV will sport the "Tech-Deck'' front face, a modern take on Skoda's traditional butterfly grille. The slimmer upper section of the grille extends to the front wings. The bonnet prominently displays the 'Skoda' lettering as part of the brand's new corporate identity. The Elroq will feature large wheels, though their exact size hasn't been confirmed yet.

Skoda Elroq EV - Interior and Size

The Skoda Elroq EV will be roughly the same size as the Karoq SUV, measuring about 4,500 mm in length. The Elroq will be the third electric SUV from Skoda, after the Enyaq and Enyaq Coupe. It promises a spacious interior and will be positioned above the Skoda Epiq, a concept revealed earlier this year, with its production version expected in 2025.

Skoda Elroq EV - Platform

It will be built on the Volkswagen Group's MEB platform, making it an EV-only model. This platform supports both single and dual-motor configurations but it is not yet known which options will be available for the Elroq.

Commenting on the new design, Oliver Stefani, Head of Skoda Auto Design said, “At Škoda, design is an important part of the brand identity and one of the main factors of our success. The continuous development of key visual elements is both a demanding and exciting task. For this reason, my team and I are thrilled to present the preview of the first Skoda model to incorporate the new Modern Solid design language such as the Tech-Deck Face and a more robust overall look. Moreover, it is the first car in our portfolio to feature Skoda lettering on its sharply contoured bonnet. No doubt, our brand-new Elroq sets a new tone and is a real eye-catcher.”
