Skoda Slavia vs Honda City: In today's world, cars have become essential in our daily lives. In India, the market offers a wide range of vehicles, from SUVs and hatchbacks to sedans. Among these, sedans remain a popular choice, known for their comfortable seating, spacious interiors and ample trunk space. However, the sedan segment in India has seen a slowdown recently, largely due to the growing popularity of SUVs. Despite this trend, many manufacturers continue to offer exciting products in the sedan segment. Some manufacturers that offer sedans in the country are Hyundai, Volkswagen, Skoda, Honda and Maruti Suzuki with popular models such as the Verna, Virtus, Slavia, City and Ciaz. Therefore, today we’re comparing two popular models in the sedan segment, the Honda City and the Skoda Slavia.

Skoda Slavia 

Price - Skoda Slavia is available in India with its prices ranging between Rs 11.53 lakh and Rs 19.12 lakh (ex-showroom). 

Engine - Skoda Slavia is powered by two turbo petrol engine options - a 1-litre turbo petrol engine with a power output of 115 bhp and a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine with a power output of 150 bhp. Both units are equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission as standard. The automatic variants feature a 6-speed torque converter for the 1-litre engine and a 7-speed DCT for the 1.5-litre engine.

Features - Talking about the features, the Slavia sedan is equipped with a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, cruise control, automatic climate control, an 8-inch digital driver’s display, a single pane sunroof, illuminated footwell, ventilated front seats and a built-in dashcam. Skoda Slavia also boasts a 5-star safety rating in the GNCAP crash tests.

Honda City

Price - Honda City is available in India with its prices ranging between Rs 12.08 lakh and Rs 16.35 lakh (ex-showroom). 

Engine - The City sedan is powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine that churns out a power output of 121 bhp and 145 Nm of torque. This engine is available with either a 6-speed manual or a CVT.

Features - In terms of features, the City includes an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless phone charging, ambient lighting, cruise control and a single pane sunroof. The Elegant edition of the Honda City also includes illuminated door sills and footwell lamps. Moreover, in terms of safety, Honda City has received a Global NCAP rating of 4 stars. 

To conclude, the Skoda Slavia is priced higher than the Honda City. However, for that price point, the Slavia offers more comprehensive features and enhanced safety.
