Upcoming Sub-Compact SUVs In India: The Indian automotive industry has been growing significantly while witnessing increasing demands for SUVs. SUVs are widely preferred in the Indian market due to their high ground clearance which is suitable for Indian roads and driving conditions. There are a plethora of SUVs available in the Indian market ranging from micro SUVs to compact SUVs to full-size SUVs. The SUV segment in India is highly competitive due to multiple models available for buyers. It is going to get more competitive in the coming months as there are several launches lined up in the coming months.

Skoda Sub-Compact SUV
Skoda India is gearing up to launch a sub-compact SUV that will be based on the same platform as the Kushaq and Slavia. It will be powered by a smaller 1-litre engine that is anticipated to produce a power output of 115 bhp. It is expected to be introduced in the Indian market in the beginning of 2025.
Tata Punch Facelift
Tata Motors also offers the Punch in the sub-compact SUV segment. It is expected that Tata may soon introduce a facelift for the Punch. The Punch facelift will be introduced with numerous changes and additional features. While the facelift is expected to bring cosmetic updates, the likelihood of any changes to the engine is minimal. The Tata Punch facelift is anticipated to debut around the festive season.

Hyundai Exter EV
Hyundai also offers the Exter SUV in this category. Currently, they only offer the traditional fuel-powered version in India. However, reports suggest that Hyundai may launch an electric version of this SUV in the market. The Exter EV could be released by the end of this year or early next year.
