IND-A vs SA-A 2nd Unofficial Test: Dhruv Jurel has solidified his position in India's playing XI for the Test series against South Africa after having a dream run in the unofficial Tests. The youngster had smashed consecutive tons against South Africa A in Bengaluru.

His recent performances have given the selectors a huge headache before the Test series. Since Rishabh Pant, who returned to the side after a foot injury in the England Test series, is a part of the Test team, Jurel's consistent performances have helped him become a serious contender.

R Ashwin has revealed that Dhruv Jurel has really made it tough for the selectors to drop him for the Test series against South Africa.

JUREL IN PRIME FORM

The youngster had also performed in the Test series against West Indies, where he had scored 125, 44, and 6 runs and had repaid the faith of the selectors. He had maintained that sublime form in this series.

In the first innings, he had scored an unbeaten knock of 132 runs off 175 balls, in which he had hit 12 fours and 4 sixes and helped the team post 255 runs in 77.1 overs. He then hit another ton in the second innings off 159 balls, in which he had smashed three more fours.

Jurel, who came into bat at the No.7 position, not just scored runs consistently but also piled pressure on the visitors. Since the first Test will be held on November 14 in Kolkata, the question is who the selectors will back as a wicketkeeper.

Till now, Jurel has scored 430 runs after playing in seven Test matches, which includes a ton and a fifty, and that shows why he is an upcoming talent in this format.
