India vs South Africa Head-To-Head Test Record: India will return to action in Test cricket as they are set to host South Africa for a two-match series, starting from November 14. The first Test of the series is scheduled to be played from November 14 to 19 at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

Shubman Gill will be leading the Indian team, whereas Temba Bavuma is all set for his return and will continue to captain South Africa. The Proteas are going through a remarkable form and have developed an undefeated streak over the past few Test series. Their last series defeat in Test cricket came against New Zealand, losing 2-0 against the Blackcaps.

The WTC 2025 champions, South Africa, will be heading into the first match against India on the back of a 1-1 draw result in the away series against Pakistan.

South Africa's last Test outing in India turned out to be a disappointing one as they suffered a 3-0 whitewash defeat in 2019/20 under the captaincy of Faf du Plessis.

On the other hand, India have witnessed the start of a new era in Test cricket under new skipper Shubman Gill. In their first series of the new WTC 2025-27 cycle, India produced an impressive effort to play out a 2-2 draw in the five-match away series against England. They recently thrashed the West Indies 2-0 at home, Gill's first Test series victory as skipper.
