IND vs WI: The BCCI had announced India's 15-member team for the two-match Test series against West Indies, where Shubman Gill will be leading the team from the front, and this series will be held next month. Ravindra Jadeja has been picked as the vice-captain, whereas star pacer Jasprit Bumrah is also a part of this team.

But there are a lot of players whose names have been ignored from this squad and who did deserve to be a part of this team, and that includes the likes of Karun Nair and Shardul Thakur.

Let's take a look at the fivenotable omissions from India's Test squad for the Windies tour:

1. Karun Nair

He is one of the notable omissions from India's Test team for the series against the West Indies. Nair, who was part of India's Test team against England, was hopeful of sealing his spot in the Test team, but the selectors ignored him.

He had scored 205 runs during the 4 Test matches he played against England. He had smashed just one fifty, and that too at the Oval. He made a comeback to India's Test side after eight years and was snubbed once again.

2. Shardul Thakur

Just like Karun, he too was left out of India's Test side for the series against the West Indies. He had scored 46 runs during the Test series against England. And that's why he has been dropped from the Indian side for the Windies tour.

3. Ishan Kishan

Ishan Kishan last represented India in this format against the same opponent way back in 2023, but after that has been continuously ignored for India's Test team. He has played in just two Test matches till now and has scored 78 runs.

The selectors preferred N Jagadeesan over him. Ajit Agarkar, in the press conference, revealed that his fitness is one of the biggest reasons for his getting dropped. When the BCCI had picked the team for India A, he was not fit enough to play. Jagadeesan was part of the team, and Ishan Kishan wasn't. He has to play some form of cricket and prove his worth.

4. Sarfaraz Khan

He too isn't a part of India's Test squad for the Windies tour. But speculations were rife that he would be selected as he had also worked on his fitness. He last represented India in this format against New Zealand last year. He has played just six Test matches till now, where he has scored 371 runs.

5. Mohammed Shami

This Indian pacer last played for India in this format against Australia way back in 2023. After that, he has been continuously snubbed from India's Test side. He has taken 229 wickets after playing in 64 Test matches till now.
