India Win Asia Cup 2025: Team India responded to the controversy with lighthearted humour as stars Suryakumar Yadav, Abhishek Sharma, Shubman Gill, and Hardik Pandya mocked Mohsin Naqvi, the PCB chairman and Asian Cricket Council chief, by adding a trophy emoticon to their celebration pics.
India clinched the Asia Cup title with an exhilarating five-wicket victory over Pakistan in the final, held in Dubai on Sunday, adding its 9th prestigious continental showpiece trophy to its collection.
After the win, Suryakumar Yadav-led India refused to receive the Asia Cup trophy and winners' medals from Naqvi during the post-match ceremony. Instead, the victorious side celebrated their win on the empty dais after the dignitaries departed.
Later, it was revealed that Naqvi took the trophy with him, reportedly to his hotel room, following India's refusal to accept it from him.
Despite not receiving the actual trophy, India did not let controversy deter their spirit as the Indian players took to their social media to celebrate their Asia Cup win, adding creativity and lightheartedness to their photos with trophy emojis.

Posting his photo with a trophy emoji, Suryakumar posted a powerful message on his Instagram post, stressing that it's the victors who will be remembered in the end.
"When the game is done, only the champions will be remembered and not the picture of a trophy," said Suryakumar.
After the win, Arshdeep Singh playfully mimicked Pakistan spinner Abrar Ahmed's signature celebration with teammates Jitesh Sharma, Harshit Rana and Sanju Samson.
