IPL 2026 Auction: The IPL 2026 is just a few months away. The teams are currently busy sorting all their players before the mini auction. It should be noted here that all the teams will have to release their list of retained players by November 15. Speculations are rife about certain potential trades that might occur before the auction, but there's no official confirmation yet. The IPL 2026 auction is most likely to be held in December, as per The Times of India. It will be held in India. It should be noted here that the last two auctions were held in overseas venues, which also includes the mega auction, which was held in Saudi Arabia.

RCB had won IPL 2025, which was also their first title in 18 years. Rajat Patidar led the team from the front after they had released ex-captain Faf du Plessis, and Rajat will lead the side as the reigning champions next year.

The IPL 2026 auction is quite important for teams like CSK and RR, who finished in the last and second last position in the points table.

CSK will have a huge purse this time after R Ashwin announced his retirement from this tournament. He returned to the side in 2025 as he was bought for a whopping amount of Rs 9.75 crore. But he had a forgetful outing and then announced his retirement.

The Ruturaj Gaikwad-led team will have a lot to think about owing to the disappointing performances of a few players, whereas RR too will be in a similar situation, as speculations are rife that skipper Sanju Samson might be traded.
