Team-by-team breakdown
India
India's destiny lies in their own hands since they have the best NRR, and they still has two matches left to play. If they win the match against Bangladesh, then they will all but qualify for the summit clash. Their brilliant NRR gives them an upper edge even if there is a case of tie scenarios. And if they lose the match against Bangladesh, then they won't be knocked out but will have to defeat Sri Lanka to keep their hopes alive of reaching the final.
Pakistan
Their hopes of reaching the summit clash got a huge boost after they defeated Sri Lanka. If the Suryakumar Yadav-led side does beat Bangladesh, then the match against Pakistan and Bangladesh, which will be held later this week, will become a virtual semifinal. And if Bangladesh defeats India, then the Salman Ali Agha-led side will have to beat Bangladesh and then depend on the match result between India and Sri Lanka.
Bangladesh
The Litton Das-led side is in an interesting position in the points table. They will be playing two matches within 24 hrs and will face teams like India and Pakistan.
If they can defeat the Men in Blue, then their chances of reaching the summit clash will get a huge boost, but it won't be guaranteed since they have the worst NRR of the three teams. And that's why they need to win against India by a huge margin and hope that Pakistan's NRR doesn't get increased even if they lose against India. And if they win against India, then they will face Pakistan in a must-win clash against the Men in Green.
The road ahead
Two scenarios will emerge- If India defeats Bangladesh, then the winner between Pakistan and Bangladesh will become the second team to reach the final. And if Bangladesh defeats the Men in Blue, then the Super 4 stage will become complicated due to NRR, and the decision of the two teams reaching the finals will be decided on the last day of this stage.
