MP School Holiday On August 10: In view of the continuous heavy rainfall in the district, on the instructions of the Bhopal Collector, a holiday has been declared for students in all schools of the district on Monday, August 10, 2026. As per the order issued by the District Education Officer's office, this holiday will apply to students from nursery up to Class 12.
The order clarifies that this decision has been taken keeping in mind the situation of excessive rainfall in Bhopal district. The holiday order will apply to all government, non-government, and grant-aided schools, including those affiliated with the Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (MPBSE), CBSE, ICSE, and other boards.
Who Does This Order Apply To?
While schools will remain closed for students, teachers and school staff have not been given a holiday. As per the order, all teachers and staff must ensure their presence at their respective offices during school hours. District Education Officer Abhinav Arya, in the order issued on August 10, stated that it will come into effect with immediate effect.
Why Was This Decision Taken?
He said the decision was taken by the administration, prioritising student safety amid continuous rainfall and waterlogging conditions. Considering the difficulties in commuting during rain, particularly waterlogging in low-lying areas, the administration decided to halt the movement of students to and from schools. School management has been directed to ensure compliance with the order.
All Schools Closed Today In Jabalpur:
On the second Monday of Sawan, the district administration has declared a holiday for schools in Jabalpur in view of the grand Sanskar Kanwar Yatra taking place in the city. As per the order issued by the Education Department, all government and private schools within the municipal corporation limits will remain closed today, August 10.
The administration said heavy crowds and major traffic diversions are expected on key city routes during the Kanwar Yatra and Lord Mahadev's royal procession, prompting this decision to prevent inconvenience to schoolchildren, parents, and school vehicles.

Students and parents are advised to stay indoors as much as possible and avoid unnecessary travel through waterlogged or low-lying areas during the heavy rainfall. Parents should keep children away from flooded roads and drains, and regularly check official communication from their respective schools or the district administration for further updates, especially if the rainfall continues or worsens over the coming days.
