Bihar STET Result Protest Hits Patna: Students who were declared unsuccessful in the STET 2025 examination staged a massive protest today outside the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) office. The protesting students have accused the board of releasing the results based on an incorrect answer key.

The protesting students demanded that the board release a revised result. A large number of students staged a sit-in protest, disrupting traffic for some time.

Police force deployed outside the BSEB office:

In view of the protest, a heavy police force was deployed at the spot. To maintain control and prevent the protest from turning violent, the police also brought in a riot control vehicle. However, the protest remained peaceful, and the students chanted slogans to voice their demands.

The students claim that the answers to several questions in the STET examination were incorrect. Despite this, the board released the final results without considering these objections, leading to many candidates failing the exam.

The candidates allege that if the evaluation had been done according to the correct answers, they would have passed the examination.

The protesting students stated that the Bihar government will soon announce more than 26,000 vacancies under the teacher recruitment phase-4. Since they have been declared unsuccessful in the STET, they will not be able to participate in this recruitment process, which is affecting their future.

Protestor Demand for Revised Results:

The students demanded that the board release a revised result as soon as possible, adding appropriate marks for the incorrect answers, so that they can participate in the next phase of the teacher eligibility test.

Rishabh Kumar, an STET candidate present at the protest site, said, "We had registered our objections to the answer key promptly, but the board ignored them. Students should not be punished for the board's mistake." Shivam Kumar said, "If the revised results are not released, the careers of thousands of students will be jeopardized."

Currently, there has been no official response from the board on this matter. The protesting students have warned that if their demands are not met soon, they will intensify their agitation. 

When Was Bihar STET Result Declared?

The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) released the results of the State Teacher Eligibility Test (STET) 2025 on January 5th. A total of 4.42 lakh candidates appeared for the exam, including both Paper-1 and Paper-2, out of which 2.56 lakh candidates passed.

The STET 2025 exam was conducted in two phases, comprising Paper-1 and Paper-2. In Paper 1, for classes 9 to 10, 2.46 lakh candidates appeared for the exam, out of which 1.54 lakh candidates passed. The pass percentage for Paper-1 is 62 percent.

Similarly, in Paper 2, for classes 11 and 12, 1.95 lakh candidates appeared for the exam, out of which 1.02 lakh students passed. The pass percentage for Paper-2 is 52 percent.

According to BSEB Chairman Anand Kishore, 57% of students passed in both papers combined. This is a decrease compared to the previous year's result of 70.25%, representing a drop of approximately 13%.
