  1. Schools must be entrusted to society, says Shri Dharmendra Pradhan

Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan 3.0 Reform: Union Minister for Education, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, chaired a day-long consultation meeting with the stakeholders on Samagra Shiksha 3.0, titled 'Reimagining Samagra Shiksha', at Sushma Swaraj Bhawan, Pravasi Bharatiya Kendra, New Delhi, today.

The meeting aimed to develop a strategic, consultative, and implementable roadmap for Samagra Shiksha 3.0 through collaborative deliberations with States, UTs, and sectoral stakeholders. The discussions focused on emerging challenges, best practices, and priority interventions required to strengthen governance, infrastructure, teacher training, and student entitlements in the next phase of the scheme.

Mr Pradhan also stated that while the salaries of teachers and systems should be the responsibility of the government, the operations of schools must be the responsibility of society.

The Minister also added that the 5 years after the implementation of the National Education Policy 2020, we are moving towards a new model of Samagra Shiksha preparation. He also pointed out that preparing an education system and human resources in line with Viksit Bharat is the biggest challenge.

Will the New Framework Bridge Learning Gaps? 

The Minister also stated that bridging learning gaps, reducing dropouts, improving learning and nutritional outcomes, enhancing teachers' capabilities, fostering design thinking and critical skills in every child, and preparing human capital for a developed India by freeing our future generation from the Macaulay mindset is a collective responsibility.

He further added that the focus should extend beyond merely achieving quality and equity, and that the entire education system should be transformed from a board-centric access scheme into an outcome-based, quality-focused framework aligned with the objectives of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

The Minister appealed to all education experts, senior officials from sectoral ministries, and participating states and union territories to develop a comprehensive annual plan for the academic year 2026-27.
