CBSE Exam 2026: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced the postponement of Class 10 and 12 examinations scheduled for March 5 across select Middle Eastern countries, including Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE. The decision was taken as a precautionary measure amid escalating regional tensions and security concerns affecting students and examination centres.
CBSE Examination Controller Sanyam Bhardwaj stated that the board is closely monitoring developments. Authorities aim to ensure student safety and the smooth conduct of exams. The board had earlier postponed the March 2 examination in the region as well, signalling a continued review-based approach depending on ground conditions.

CBSE officials confirmed that fresh dates for the postponed examinations will be announced later. The board will reassess the situation on March 5 before taking further decisions regarding upcoming papers. Students and parents have been advised to regularly check official updates for clarity on the revised schedule.
The move reflects CBSE’s priority toward student safety over rigid scheduling. While exams in India continue as planned, the Middle East region remains under special consideration. Further decisions will depend on security assessments and administrative feasibility in the affected countries.
This comes after Iran's Supreme Leader Khamenei was killed in a major Israeli and US attack on Iran on Saturday. His death was confirmed on Sunday.
