GATE 2024 Result: The results of the 2024 Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) will be released on March 16. The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) will release the GATE results 2024 via gate2024.iisc.ac.in, the official website.

To recruit Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) and offer admission to postgraduate engineering programs, GATE 2024 was held from February 3 to February 11. Based on the GATE 2024 scores, admission to MTech programs would be granted to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).

Rather than using 29 papers for the GATE 2024 exam, IISc used 30 this year. Artificial intelligence and data science were the recently added papers. Unlike the previous year, when there were examination centres available outside of India, this year's exam was exclusively held at locations within India.

GATE 2024: How scores are normalised?

Since several questions on the GATE test 2024 were administered over the course of multiple sessions, the results have been normalized to account for variations in the difficulty of the various sets of question papers. GATE scores are normalized using the following formula:

The normalized marks of the ith session's jth candidate, represented by Mij, are calculated as follows:

M i ̂, j = Mg t − Mg q / Mti − Miq (Mij − Miq) + Mg q

- The actual marks that the jth contestant received in the ith session are called Mij.

- The mean score of the top 0.1% of candidates across all sessions is called Mgt.

- Mgq is the total of the candidates' mean and standard deviation scores over all sessions in the paper.

- The session's mean and standard deviation scores add up to form Miq.

- The mean test scores of the top 0.1% of candidates in the session are known as Mti.
