Adipurush Box Office Collection Day 9: Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, and Saif Ali Khan starred in 'Adipurush,' directed by Om Raut. Despite being a grand production, the film is currently not performing well at the box office. Fans and critics have heavily criticised the film's inferior quality visual effects and dialogues. Even on the ninth day of its release, and the historic epic struggled to attract audiences and remained in single-digit numbers, thus making its revival unlikely.
'Adipurush' initially had a strong start, with its earnings reaching approximately Rs 250 crore in just the first three days. However, on the following Monday, the film experienced a significant decline of over 70 per ent in its box office collection. The drop has continued to be substantial, and on the ninth day, the film only managed to earn nearly Rs 5.25 crore across all languages. To attract a larger audience, the film makers had reduced its ticket prices by almost half.
In fact, both Om Raut and dialogue writer Manoj Muntashir went as far as revising the film's dialogues in an attempt to appeal to a wider audience. However, despite these efforts, the film's performance remains dismal, and it is currently in critical condition at the box office, struggling to sustain its run. The film's total earnings in India now stand at 268.55 crore with a Hindi occupancy rate of 14.64 per cent on June 24.
About 'Adipurush'
Upon the release of its first teaser, 'Adipurush' received severe backlash. However, Om Raut soon took the feedback into account and decided to delay the film by six months, assuring that the final product would be of high quality.
Unfortunately, all of his promises have fallen short, as the film is now regarded as mediocre at best. Additionally, due to controversy surrounding the portrayal of mythology and its representation, there is a growing demand for the film to be banned by certain groups.
'Adipurush' was released as a 3D film in multiple languages on June 16. It is a cinematic adaptation of Valmiki's 'Ramayana,' presenting a mythological narrative. Helmed by Om Raut, the film showcases Prabhas portraying the character of Raghava, while Saif Ali Khan takes on the role of Lankesh and Kriti Sanon portrays Janaki. Sunny Singh and Devdatta Nage also contribute to the film by playing supporting characters.
