B-town divas Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Aditi Rao Hydari are all set to attend the upcoming edition of Cannes Film Festival. The duo make their return at the film festival as the ambassadors for L’Oreal/. While Aishwarya has been attending the festival for a very long time, Rao made her debut at Cannes last year.

According to Hindustan Times, Aditi said in a statement, “I am thrilled to embark on this journey to the esteemed Festival de Cannes as the spokesperson for the brand. I strongly advocate that women should confidently embrace their unique selves and I truly resonate with the theme of this year "Many ways to be an icon".

“It's about embracing one's unique journey and inherent worth. It is an honour to be aligned with a brand that has consistently championed the cause of women's empowerment, fostering confidence and growth in every facet of their lives,” she went on to state.

Not only Aditi and Aishwarya, Sobhita Dhulipala has also been confirmed to attend Cannes Film Festival. She will be representing an ice cream brand.

Two films from India have earned the prestigious opportunity to be showcased at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival. Sandhya Suri's film titled "Santosh" has been chosen for inclusion in the Un Certain Regard section, a category known for highlighting unique and often innovative storytelling techniques. 

Payal Kapadia’s film ‘All We Imagine As Light’ is set to be featured in the festival's competition section, where it will contend with other films from around the world for top honors. This selection is a significant recognition of Indian cinema’s evolving narrative and artistic expression on an international platform.

About 77th Cannes Film Festival

The 77th annual Cannes Film Festival is scheduled to run from May 14 to May 25, 2024. This prestigious film festival will be led by American filmmaker and actress Greta Gerwig, who has been appointed as the jury president for the main competition. French actress Camille Cottin has been chosen to host both the opening and closing ceremonies of the festival.
