Actress Elnaaz Norouzi, who gained widespread recognition for her notable role in the critically acclaimed Netflix series Sacred Games, has unfortunately become the latest celebrity to fall prey to the growing menace of cybercrime. In a disturbing revelation, the Iranian-German actress recently shared her harrowing experience of being victimised by an online perpetrator. As she delved deeper, she was horrified to discover private pictures of herself, which had apparently been accessed and manipulated by the cybercriminal.

In a distressing turn of events, the accused allegedly resorted to blackmail, threatening Elnaaz with the compromising images. Left with no choice, the actress has been compelled to take legal action against the accused.

In a recent interview with ETimes, Elnaaz Norouzi recounted a harrowing experience that left her shaken. The incident occurred in January 2025, when she received an anonymous email that caught her attention due to her password being displayed in the subject line. Normally, she would dismiss such emails as spam, but her curiosity got the better of her, prompting her to open it. She discovered that the email contained attached private pictures of herself, accompanied by a menacing message.

The message read, "I have your pictures. If you don't want them posted online, then reply to me as soon as possible. If not, the next email will be a link with the pictures online."

After receiving the threatening email, Elnaaz contacted the Cybercrime Cell, which traced the email to a Swiss server but couldn't identify the user. During the investigation, Elnaaz admitted to filling out an online form, which may have compromised her data. The Cybercrime team helped her secure her devices and update passwords. Despite their efforts, Elnaaz now lives in constant fear, anxious that the perpetrator may contact her again and threaten to post her private pictures online.
