‘Ghoomer’ features Abhishek Bachchan and Saiyami Kher in lead roles and is helmed by renowned director R Balki. The film hit theatres on August 18 and is struggling at the box office amid the success of ‘Gadar 2’ and ‘OMG 2.’ ‘Ghoomer’ was released alongside Nushratt Bharuccha’s ‘Akeli’ at the box office, however, both films are running slow in their initial days. ‘Ghoomer’ is inspired by the life of Hungarian shooter Karoly Tackas.
The box office revenue of ‘Ghoomer’ in India was predicted to be around Rs 25 crores. According to a report in Sacnilk.com, the film earned Rs 0.30 crore on Day 5, taking the total domestic collection to be around Rs 4.09 crore. The film opened in theatres on August 18 and earned Rs 0.85 crore on Day 1.

The plot of ‘Ghoomer’ revolves around Anina aka Saiyami Kher, who desires to play cricket and is a batter in her team. However, she meets with a horrible accident and loses her right hand. Giving up her dreams and hopes, she comes across a failed former cricket player, who guides her and in a unique form teaches her to become the best bowler in town.
‘Ghoomer’ is directed by R Balki, who is known for his popular ventures like ‘Padman’, ‘Paa’, and ‘Chup: Revenge of the Artist.’ The film also features Angad Bedi and Shabana Azmi in pivotal roles, whereas it has an extended cameo of Amitabh Bachchan.
