Arjun Kapoor marked a significant milestone in his cinematic journey as Ishaqzaade, the movie that launched his Bollywood career, completed 13 years since its release on May 11, 2012. Starring Arjun Kapoor opposite Parineeti Chopra, this movie is a riveting story of love, rebellion and the pain of constraints society imposes on us. The movie was directed by Habib Faisal and produced by Aditya Chopra under Yash Raj Films. Ishaqzaade certainly made an impact on Indian cinema and gave the audience a glimpse of the promising new talent in Arjun Kapoor.

To commemorate the occasion, the actor decided to share a heart-felt letter on Instagram addressed to his 26-year-old self, the same age he was when he debuted for the public. In the post, which was in a scrapbook-style post featuring his childhood pictures along with excerpts from Ishaqzaade, he expressed his challenges, triumphs, transformation and overall evolution. “Dear 26-year-old Arjun, you did it. You’re standing at the edge of a dream that once felt impossible. I know how many nights you stayed up, watching films, believing somehow that cinema would be your escape, your purpose,” he wrote. The actor further detailed the intense preparation that went into shaping his character, Parma Chauhan, both physically and emotionally.

“You also worked hard to transform—not just your body, but your mind, your spirit. The hours, the discipline, the setbacks, they were all worth it. Stay humble. Stay hungry. And never forget—this journey began with a bullied kid who simply loved movies too much to give up. With love and pride, Arjun 2.0,” he added. In the caption, Arjun summed up the emotional post by saying, “The boy who loved films became the man who lives for them. Marked 13 years of Ishaqzaade yesterday —grateful, grounded, growing.”

Ishaqzaade tells the story of Parma Chauhan (Arjun Kapoor) and Zoya Qureshi (Parineeti Chopra), two passionate individuals from politically and religiously opposed families. Their tumultuous love story, marked by violence, betrayal, and redemption, resonated with audiences for its gritty realism and powerful performances. The film also marked a turning point in Hindi cinema, shedding light on honor killings and interfaith relationships.

Following the success of Ishaqzaade, Arjun and Parineeti reunited in Namastey England (2018), though it failed to make an impact at the box office. Nevertheless, Arjun continued to evolve as an impressive actor taking on diverse roles in different styles from romantic dramas like 2 States to ensemble comedies with Mubarakan and dramatic thrillers with India’s Most Wanted.

He was last seen in Mere Husband Ki Biwi, a romantic comedy movie directed by Mudassar Aziz, co-starring Bhumi Pednekar, Rakul Preet Singh, and Harsh Gujral. Arjun Kapoor is now preparing for his subsequent role No Entry 2 starring beside Varun Dhawan and Diljit Dosanjh. He also appeared in Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again, keeping fans intrigued.
