The Producers Guild of India has stepped into the ongoing Don 3 dispute after receiving a formal complaint from Excel Entertainment and Panorama Studios. In an official statement, the Guild said it had taken note of the matter and urged all parties involved to work towards an amicable resolution. The intervention comes days after actor Ranveer Singh sent a legal notice to FWICE over its non-cooperation directive linked to his exit from the movie.

The PGI stressed that disputes of this nature can cause reputational damage, impact professional credibility, and create uncertainty within the industry. Emphasising the larger interests of the film industry, the body called on all stakeholders to resolve the issue through mutual understanding.

The PGI stated that no industry memshould engage in situations that result in significant financial losses for both producers and other industry verticals. It also noted that prolonged conflicts can affect the livelihood of technicians, crew members and other workers associated with a project.

What started as an unplanned professional altercation has now developed into a major industry standoff. Farhan Akhtar's Excel Entertainment sent Ranveer Singh a notice demanding Rs 40 crore in damages after he quit Don 3 following the release of Dhurandhar.

Don 3 Controversy

The dispute surrounding Don 3 has continued to make headlines after reports claimed that Ranveer Singh stepped away from the project. While neither the actor nor the makers have officially confirmed the reason, several reports suggested that creative differences, production delays and the lack of a finalised script may have played a role in his exit. Following his departure, the producers reportedly approached the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) over the matter.

FWICE later stated that it had repeatedly sought an explanation from Ranveer regarding his decision to leave the film, but did not receive a response. The body subsequently issued a non-cooperation directive against the actor until he agreed to meet its representatives.

According to NDTV, Ranveer Singh has now served a legal notice to FWICE on June 2, challenging the directive. While the move is not a formal ban, it has attracted significant attention given the actor's star power and the popularity of the Don franchise, one of Bollywood's most successful action series.
