Aditya Roy Kapur’s personal life has been in the spotlight after his breakup with rumoured girlfriend Ananya Panday. The actor is currently gearning up for the release of his upcoming Metro In Dino, which is slated tp release on July 4. While promoting his upcoming film, Aditya playfully responded to the most talked-about topic, his dating life. In the viral video from the event, he was heard saying, “Right now, I’m in a relationship… with this thing called Metro In Dino.” His response not only left the audience but also his co-star Sara Ali Khan in splits.

The actor was reportedly dating Ananya Panday and that too for nearly two years. However, things didn't work out and speculations about their breakup emerged in April last year. Neither Ananya nor Aditya ever officially acknowledged their relationship or breakup rumours. Despite that, they were often spotted together at professional gatherings or on vacations.

Earlier, a close friend of the couple told Bombay Times shared details about their breakup. "They broke up almost a month ago. They were going quite well, and the breakup came as a shock to all of us. They are cordial with each other. Ananya is trying to move on; of course, there’s hurt. She is spending time with her new furry friend. Aditya is also trying to deal with the situation maturely."

Talking about Aditya's upcoming film Metro In Dino, it is a spiritual successor to 2007 Life In A Metro, which starred late actor Irrfan Khan and Konkona Sen Sharma. The film was helmed by Anurag Basu, who is coming with a new cast and new love stories. Besides Aditya and Sara, Metro In Dino also stars Konkona, Pankaj Tripathi, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Anupam Kher, Neena Gupta and Ali Fazal in key roles. The movie will take the audience into the complexities of modern love, where several couples navigate the ups and downs of relationships. The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Taani Basu and Anurag Basu.
