South Korean actor Kim Soo Hyun is scheduled to appear at the Seoul Central District Court on November 21 for a significant legal matter. Specifically, he will face the 22nd Civil Division for the first hearing in a lawsuit brought against him by Cosmetics Brand A. This lawsuit, which carries a financial claim of 500 million KRW (approximately $350,000 USD), was originally filed seven months ago. The core of the dispute revolves around the abrupt termination of Kim Soo Hyun's modeling contract with the brand, a decision that reportedly occurred amidst personal controversies involving the actor.
In an official statement, the brand said, “We found it difficult to take immediate action regarding the contract termination without first hearing the statements of Kim Soo Hyun and his agency."
"After reviewing the agency’s position, we judged that there were serious reasons preventing the fulfillment of the advertising contract and we have officially initiated the termination process through our legal representatives. This decision reflects our commitment to uphold the values of the brand and the trust of our consumers," the brand added.
In defense of Kim Soo Hyun, his legal team, headed by attorney Go Sang Rok, has consistently denied all allegations concerning the actor's personal life. This denial focuses particularly on the claims linking him romantically to the late actress Kim Sae Ron.

Go Sang Rok stressed that Kim Soo Hyun never had a relationship with Sae Ron while she was a minor. As crucial evidence of his client's innocence and to demonstrate who his real partner was at the time, the attorney presented excerpts from 150 diary-style letters that Kim Sae Ron allegedly wrote to that partner while Kim Soo Hyun was serving in the military.
