Met Gala 2026 Theme And Dress Code

Met Gala 2026 theme aligns with its dress code, which is 'Costume Art'. The dress code, which is based on the idea of the dressed body, is said to examine the relationship between fashion and the museum's holdings. 'Fashion Is Art' has been announced as the event's dress code, allowing attendees to treat their ensembles as works of art.

It is crucial to consult a variety of historical artworks during the design process, such as Mondrian's minimalist aesthetic and fashion inspiration from Picasso, Goya, and Cocteau.

What Is The Ticket Price For Met Gala 2026?

A table costs USD 350,000, and a ticket costs USD 100,000 this year, according to several media reports. The Costume Institute's annual budget is directly funded by the expected USD 31 million in earnings from the 2025 gala.

Here are a few strict rules that every Met Gala attendee has to follow:

  • No phones or selfies allowed
  • No smoking
  • The food menu avoids parsley, garlic, and bruschetta to avoid unforeseen circumstances.
  • Spouses are positioned purposefully apart in the thoughtfully planned seating to foster new relationships and conversation.

The 2026 Met Gala will apparently celebrate diversity and people of all shapes and sizes in addition to fashion. It is also said that the dresses on exhibit reflect this. As a means of honouring all human existence, the committee has provided collaborators with explicit guidelines to ensure inclusive practices, such as using mannequins of all sizes to display the collection.
